Florianopolis - Caieira of the Bar of the South

Caieira of the Bar of the South is the last community to the south of the Island of Santa Catarina.

Its denomination originates from the fact of that next to beach, during the process of settling of the Island, the process of originary production of whitewash of sea shells was developed. The shells were collected and forest fires in ovens in the region. This was for much time one of the main economic activities of the place.
The beach has clean and tame waters and fine sand. It possesss small dune formations and a called Great Waterfall.

In some stretches of the access road the community has houses in colonial style, reporting the visitor to a return to the past.
